From Victorian era curiosities to early 20th century equestrian and motorcycle wear to rare WW2 era items – Black Sign garments are beautifully constructed, with a shared identity and aesthetic cohesion running through the collection to a degree we rarely see in brands focusing on reproductions & recreations.

Inspired by fashion icon Paul Poiret, for who this jacket is named, the Poiret Jacket is an “art deco” style coat, with a pattern based on a vintage Italian military hospital jacket. Cut with an a-line body, it features a relaxed fit with a non-adjustable half belt across the back and a five button placket. The whole thing is cut to a car coat length, with two slash hand pockets at the front, and a handsome open collar.

It’s made from a 100% rayon faux fur fabric, woven on authentic velvet looms from Germany and Italy, and then brushed to enhance the “fur” effect. Smooth, soft, and noticeably shiny, it’s got a whole range of tonal and textural variety throughout, making for an exceptional statement piece. Inside, it’s fully lined with a silky smooth 100% cupro fabric.

Fits true to size with a relaxed fit. Dry clean only.
